Thoughts after the winning streak

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Syracuse Led Hire-Zim put together an 85-47 win over Binghamton on the night. The Orange jumped out to a 10-0 lead within the first minute, then used another 10-0 lead in part because of a 32-14 lead.In the second half, Su even opened up a big lead, shooting 70% from the field, and Donnie Freeman led the team with 20 points when he dropped 53 points after 20 minutes.Nathan George had 14 points, eight goals and five steals. There are several ways here

Syracuse Men's Basketball: Opening Night Game vs. Binghamton

Thoughts in victory

While Syracuse came out aggressively against Binghamton on Monday night, the performances — especially the passing game — got off to a nervous start.Orange did not allow it.It was clear from the beginning which team was aggressive and which team was not.

"You don't want to start a game slow," Freeman said."You just want to come down early and try to get some momentum and carry that momentum through the rest of the game."

"I thought we played scary," said Bingham's Bingham.

The Orange jumped out to a 10-0 lead, then increased the lead to 20-4.In that stretch, he forced a ton of turnovers and limited field goal attempts for the Bears. It was arguably Adrian Autry's most prolific defensive stretch while leading the program.

William Kyle's two offensive rebounds in one game demonstrated that, as the Orange players struggled like crazy to find the ball early. The audience was delighted from the very beginning, as was the bench. All four Syracuse assistant coaches were on their feet and motivated the team from the sidelines throughout the game.

Monday's performance may be the closest Syracuse has looked to displaying Adrian Autry's vision throughout his tenure.

“It was close (to the vision),” Autry said.“We still have something to work on, but it was close.”

Syracuse had two killshots in the first half of the game.A kill shot is a score of 10 points, and according to Evan Miyakawa's research, teams that have more 10-0 runs in the game than their opponents win 82% of the time.

Last season, the Orange had just SIX 10-0 runs all season, giving up 18.Maybe Monday's two could be a sign of things to come.

Not only did the Orange have the worst shooting margin of the last season, they also had five turnovers from their opponents and had 22 turnovers, including 15 from Binghamton, including 15 from Binghamton, including 15 from Binghamton, including 15 from Binghamton, including 15 from Binghamton.

This is good for a +17 rotation margin.

"We want to stay on that pitch with five, no more than ten turnovers," Freeman said.Because it takes us away from property. And when we start playing against high-level opponents, that possession is important."

William Kyle scored 16 points. He had seven rebounds.Last season, he finished the year with 28 dunks — still a good number considering his playing time — but he's expected to tie that number before the Orange head to Las Vegas.

"It feels good to be back out there playing more minutes," Kyle said."To know that he shows that, it means the world to me."

He got a couple of chips from Noornge, as well as a lob from Kiyan Anthony. It made for a successful show of Reel.

"On the first day I played George," Kyle said, "a bandit threw him out of his private yard. I never thought of the wolf yard. So it feels natural to me. And that's thanks to him, he's aggressive with my tongue."

starling's minute fill

Once JJ Starling went down, Syracuse had to remove some lineups to get through the 40 minutes.Kean Anthony was the main heir, coming in with 15 points in his first game as a freshman.

"Once (JJ) gets down," Anthony said. "Coach Red came to me and told me to step up and keep my energy up. I feel like we do that every day in practice. We go one after the other."

He says his confidence "goes through the roof" when he hits the first few shots like he did Monday night.

Orange also gave eleven minutes to Bryce Zephir, and while he didn't score, he grabbed three rebounds, made three assists, and was relatively solid at both ends.Autry said Starling will be "fine," but Zephir showed he can at least hold buy in these games for short spurts.

Syracuse plays Delaware State on Saturday at 1 p.m.inside the Dome.
